What are enrichment dog toys?

The philosophy: Get rid of the dog bowl

Here at Home Alone Dog Toys, we've never met a dog trainer whose first piece of advice for a confident dog (whose happy in their own company!) wasn't to stop feeding your dog from a dog bowl, and instead use this highly valuable resource (food!) as a way to tap into their natural instincts to use scent and foraging to find food - for an enriched pup!

What's the difference between an enrichment toy and a regular toy?

An enrichment toy is any toy where your dog has to use their brain to work out how to get to the end goal (food!). Sometimes they're called intelligence toys or interactive toys.

The main objective is to hide food for your pup to discover. They range in difficulty level (our favourite are ones where you can scale the difficulty for your dog) and involve activities like lever manipulation, flap lifting, sliding, and fabric exploration.

Are there any health benefits?

Naturally, puzzle feeders will slow down your dog's eating and make them less susceptible over-eating.
